First we would like to thank all the referees and officials in advance for your support of the Stars and Stripes Taekwondo Open. Just a reminder this is not a USA-Taekwondo sanctioned event and you do not need to hold a current D2 or higher USAT referee credential.
To encourage impartiality in the judging we are offering the following inducements to a referee traveling over 100 miles to this event.
1) Hotel room for one night at the Hilton Garden Inn of Independence (Headquarters hotel) double occupancy.
2) Breakfast Buffet in the morning at the Hotel.
3) Hospitality room and all the food and drinks you need throughout the Tournament day on October 08, 2011
4) A Stars and Stripes tournament t-shirt.
5) We will also pay a $50 stipend for certain officials depending on USAT class and tournament need.
Please fill out the application and you will be contacted by one of the Referee Co-Chairs if accepted.
All Stars & Stripes officials will receive a complimentary Stars & Stripes tournament t-shirt, however please wear dark pants with white shirt and tie. We have arranged a hospitality room with complimentary lunch and drinks throughout the day. Also please arrive before 8:30am for the mandatory coaches and officials meeting. LIABILITY WAIVER:
In consideration of your acceptance of my entry, I do hereby waive and release, for myself, my heirs and executors and administrators, any claim I may make against Stars and Stripes Taekwondo Open, Pruter’s Sport Taekwondo, Blue Springs High School, the sponsors, directors, volunteers and competitors for any and all damages which may be sustained by me in connection with my association with or entry in the above athletic meet, or which may arise out of traveling to, participating in and returning from this athletic meet. I understand that Taekwondo is a body-contact sport which involves risk of injury. I understand all the contents of the rules and general information published by the sponsors and I agree with them in their entirety. I fully understand that any medical treatment I receive will be of the “First Aid” type only. In addition, I consent that any pictures taken of me in connection with this event can be used for publicity, etc. and I waive compensation in regard hereto.

On June 5th 2010 26 Black Belts attended the first of several USAT referee development seminars. We had experienced referees as well as first timers. The Seminar was 8 hours long and was conducted by Master Ron Rose and hosted by Pruter's U.S. Martial Arts and Sport Taekwondo. If you have any referee or rules questions please contact:
